1. Detection method of ginsenoside
Ginsenosides mainly detection methods are UV and HPLC . The UV test was based on RE as a reference substance,use the known RE dissolved standard measure the absorbance value of the unknown ginsenoside ,then calculate the unknown ginsenoside content. The HPLC test detect the content of seven ginsenoside monomers RE, RG1, RF, RB1, RC, RB2, and RD, then calculate the sum. The HPLC test will used 7 standard monomers. Take the 7 standard products and mix them into a standard solution with known content. Firstly measure the HPLC chromatogram of the standard solution, then measure the HPLC chromatogram of unknown ginsenoside content ,calculate each manomer according to the monomer peak area and the calculation formula, then sum 7 monomers content. Panax quinquefolium will detect one more monomer, RG3. HPLC is more accurate and more complex than UV detection.

-The content of Rg1 and RE in ginseng root extract is lower than that of RB1, and the content of RB1 is higher in root extract.
-RE,RG1,RD are the main ingredients in ginseng leaf and stem extract,their much higher than RB1.
-Half American ginseng root extract ginsenoside is RB1.
-Rb3 is the main ingredient in the American ginseng stem and leaf extract.
-Notoginseng stem and leaf extract with high content RC and RB3.
Ginseng root extract and ginseng stem and leaf extract only have few RB3;and only ginseng have RF,so,if your product not have RG,then its not from ginseng.Only American ginseng have F11,so if you check this ginsenoside,you will know your product whether mix American ginseng extract.American ginseng stem and leaf with high content of RB3,so if your product with high content RB3,then maybe mixed American ginseng stem and leaf extract.The easiest way to comfirm your products whether is ture ginseng root extract is make ID test.Most Europe and American customers will make HPTLC test.
